Eighteen year old actress and singer, Miranda Cosgrove, was injured Thursday morning when her tour bus crashed into a tractor-trailer outside of Vandalia, Illinois. This injury is causing her to postpone her current concert tour.
The tractor-trailer was already turned over on the interstate 70 and was blocking a lane. Two drivers had stopped to help the tractor-trailer driver that was stuck in the vehicle. Miranda’s bus was cruising by and hit the side of the tractor-trailer. Five or six people were injured in the accident; two were even sent by helicopter to a nearby hospital. The truck driver, Phillip Carter, and the bus driver, Rodney McClure, were two of the most seriously injured.
Miranda suffered from a broken ankle. No information is available right now on the extent of the injuries of the other bus passengers. Everyone is expected to be fine; however, the tour will be postponed. Miranda’s schedule had her performing in Wichita, Kansas on Friday, and Denver on Saturday.
Miranda is the star of iCarly. She has an album named “High Maintenance”, was the voice of Margo in “Despicable Me” and was a part of “The School of Rock.”
Miranda thanks everyone for their understanding and support during this time.
